Instructors

Child Care Resource and Referral is looking for instructors. If you want to supplement your income by contracting to teach classes through CCR&R, please read the instructor levels below. Review the list of required forms and send the application, documentation and agreements to Carol Jensen, Regional Training Coordinator. For more information, call Carol at 800-945-9778.

Successful Instructor Candidates Should:

Understand best practices in their field

Support research based philosophy

bullet

Have excellent communication skills

bullet

Show enthusiasm and passion for working with children and families

bullet

Have empathy for children and families

bullet

Respect other cultures

bullet

Be professional and serve as a positive ambassador for CCR&R

bullet

Have a willingness to attend future train the trainer events

 

Instructor Levels:

Specialty Instructors teach in a specialty field that is necessary for the work in early childhood, but outside of the area of expertise of early childhood professionals. Specialty Instructors include people who work in accounting, human resources, fire safety, CPR and First Aid, etc.  Qualifications include:

A license, certificate or other professional credential in the content area

bullet

A minimum of two years of experience in their field

 

Level 1 Early Childhood Instructors have little or no experience sharing their knowledge with other adults in a formal training setting and can teach introductory level classes. Qualifications include:

bullet

HS diploma/GED required

bullet

CDA credential or 12 college credits recommended, AA or BA preferred

bullet

Minimum of three years of experience in the field

bullet

0-25 clock hours providing adult education or training

 

Level 2 Early Childhood Instructors have some experience teaching/training adults and can teach many classes relating to early childhood or school-age care. Qualifications include:

CDA credential or 12 college credits in content area required

bullet

Associate or bachelor degree preferred

bullet

Minimum of three years of experience in the field

bullet

Minimum of 25 clock hours providing adult education in the past five years

 

Level 3 Early Childhood Instructors can teach all classes relating to early childhood or school-age care. They can serve as mentors to Level 1 or 2 instructors. Qualifications include:

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in content area

bullet

Minimum of three years of experience in the field

bullet

Minimum of 25 clock hours providing adult education in the past five years
