Environment Rating Scales (ERS)

Environment Rating Scales are nationally recognized scales that asses the quality of child care programs. The four scales are:

bullet

Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale (FCCERS) for home providers.

bullet

Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS) for centers and preschools

bullet

The Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) that is for centers that take care of infants and toddlers

bullet

The School Age Care Rating Scale (SACERS) that are for school age programs that are in centers or public schools.

The training helps program personnel understand how to use the scales to enhance the overall quality of care they provide. Attending the approved ERS training is part of the Iowa Quality Rating System (QRS).

Guests, including children, are not allowed in class. If you require special accommodations such as an interpreter, please contact the person taking registrations so she can make arrangements. Please be respectful and cancel your reservation if you cannot attend, so people on the waiting list can take your place. Closing time of all classes is approximate.
