Universal Precautions and Exposure Control Plans

Learn to decrease the risk of illness and disease. Staff who work in licensed child development centers must take this course every year. Providers in child development homes take it for health and safety training. Since approved face-to-face classes are difficult to find, a specific online class is available. Click here for more information about this course.

Follow these instructions for creating your account, login, password etc. If you took the Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training online class, you will use the same URL and login/password. If you did not take that online class, you will need to create your own account with login and password. Read the directions on how to register for the class. There are no group registrations or accounts.

It will take a few weeks to receive the official certificate via email. Because the certificate of completion is an email attachment, it may go to your spam or junk email box.

The online course is currently offered at no charge. For technical difficulties, please contact Sandra Lyles at 515-242-5165.

OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations require the training to cover the following topics in addition to how diseases are spread.
bullet

What to do when the child care provider has been exposed to a blood borne pathogen

bullet

What policy and practices need to be in place for post exposure

bullet

What medical services the child care provider should receive and who pays for those medical services

Please call the number listed on the schedule below for registration information to ensure your spot in the class you want to attend.

All providers can gain knowledge and new insight from attending training and are welcome in all classes that interest them, no matter what their experience is.

Pre-registration is required for all classes

Payment is due 10 days prior to the first class. Guests, including children, are not allowed in class. If you require special accommodations such as an interpreter, please contact the person taking registrations so she can make arrangements. Please be respectful and cancel your reservation if you cannot attend, so people on the waiting list can take your place. Refunds will not be given unless CCR&R cancels the class. Closing time of all classes is approximate.

Please check back in August for a new schedule.
